Realised by Lamborghini Centro Stile, the uncompromising styling of the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 signifies the make’s latest form of their racing car.
Automobili Lamborghini’s president and chief executive officer Stephan Winkelmann said, “Seven years have passed since we introduced the first Huracan Super Trofeo at Pebble Beach, and now Squadra Corse is adding a new chapter to its history.”

Starting in 2022, the latest version will be screaming through the Super Trofeo as it speeds across the three continental Lamborghini one-make series, which in this year contested for its 13th season.
Speaking of which, ever since 2009, 950 drivers have raced in the Super Trofeo and competed in over 310 hours at the most prestigious tracks in the world.

“The Super Trofeo is the best testing ground for technical and aerodynamic solutions for both road cars and GTs, and with the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2, we have taken another step forward. In April 2021, we celebrated the milestone of the 400th Huracan racing car, and our goal with the Super Trofeo EVO2 is to reach 500 in just a few years,” remarked Automobili Lamborghini’s chief technical officer Maurizio Reggiani.
Probing the overall build, aerodynamics and design are the areas in which Squadra Corse and Centro Stile have asserted the most effort in.

Aesthetically, the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 adopts the design of the previous generations to the extreme, foretelling the styling elements that will debut on-road cars in the coming years.
Admiring the front end, significant changes can be seen. The Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 now features new high-intensity full LED light clusters with a hexagonal design.

Then, paired to the front lip dubbed the ‘omega’ that connects with the carbon fibre fins, it further reinforces the stylistic contours akin to the road-legal Huracan STO.
Also, newly fitted are the air curtain intakes that optimises the airflow by keeping it adherent to the sides, as well as contributing to the downforce.

Flipping to the back end, present and dominating is the large carbon fibre wing, which Squadra Corse and Centro Stile claimed was inspired by minimalism and lightness.
Again, paying homage to another Lambo masterpiece, the frames of the new LED light clusters can be seen adopting design cues of the renowned Countach.

Said light clusters are efficiently supported by the arched carbon fibre bumper, which flawlessly links the aerodynamic appendages located behind the wheels to the redesigned diffuser fins.
Equally important, the rear fenders are composed of a single element, which includes part of the side spoiler, for optimal surface continuity.

Besides that, all the ingenuity seen in numerous components of the bodywork that replaces plastic materials with carbon fibre works to maintain maximum sustainability in terms of running costs.
Lamborghini’s head of design Mitja Borkert commented, “When we approached the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 project, we immediately thought of the concept of ‘Racing in style’. That is, a combination of the typical aggressiveness of the Huracan racing cars and the classic stylistic features of Lamborghini’s DNA. In addition, the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 represents a futuristic aesthetic approach that partially anticipates the design elements of the next range of road cars.”

Performance is everything, especially with a Lambo track car. Thus, lurking in the chassis of the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 is the screaming 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine.
The raging bull’s track-tuned engine delivers a maximum power output of 620 hp, and all that thrust is managed with a sequential 6-speed X-Trac transmission paired to a rear-wheel-drive system.

Alternatively, in racing, braking is as crucial as speeding. Hence, the braking system, designed and developed by Squadra Corse has also undergone significant changes.
For instance, the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2’s new upgrades see the increase of size to the steel front discs from 380 mm to 390 mm.

Furthermore, the new callipers can now accommodate brake pads with a new unique design and a larger surface area, which heightens the performance and consumption.
“Super Trofeo is the basis of our concept of customer racing, capable of involving and exciting both young talents and gentlemen drivers. The Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 is dedicated to both categories of drivers, and we have designed it with the precise aim of offering an even more engaging driving experience while paying the utmost attention to running costs,” stated Lamborghini’s head of motorsport Giorgio Sanna.

Pricing wise, it tags at 250,000 Euro (RM 1,236,699), and patrons will have the opportunity to upgrade the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO with a dedicated kit available from early next year.
Winkelmann added, “The Huracan is one of the biggest bestsellers in the history of the brand, and the Super Trofeo has additionally helped to increase its success.”

Rounding it up, the Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 initially made its public debut on May 28 in Le Castellet, on the occasion of the second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe.
