Mitsubishi Motors Steps Up Yet Again, To Support The Many COVID-19 Aid Efforts!
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) continues to support the many COVID-19 aid efforts as Malaysia is still on the verge of fighting COVID-19 infections.
Among the efforts put in by the company were the loans of three Mitsubishi vehicles - a Triton pick-up truck and two Outlander seven-seater SUVs - , as well as a donation of RM20,000 to Mercy Malaysia.
The loans of the Mitsubishi vehicles are to aid in providing transportation support to front liners who need to commute to vaccination centres for the public outreach vaccination program.
The donation will go to the purchase of 400 units of Tyvek suits for front liners that will be allocated to three COVID-19 Assessment Centres (CAC) that include Stadium Melawati, Stadium Jugra, and Klinik Kesihatan Gombak Setia.
On top of that, this donation will also aid health workers in conducting extensive screening on possible virus carriers, contract tracing, isolating the infected, and dispensing care to those who need it.
Not only that, the company also made a purchase worth RM43,000 that consists of items needed at a CAC in Hulu Langat.
Other efforts by Mitsubishi Motors include the contribution of essential items such as tents, tables, and chairs, portable air-condition units, queue barriers, and heavy-duty wires that were needed at a CAC centre.
“Although our core business is producing cars, we are committed to doing our part in ensuring the country and our customers are kept safe. The recent increase in cases and impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has led to significant emotional stress among the country’s front liners, particularly healthcare workers in Malaysia. We will continue to communicate closely with key NGOs and public institutions to see how Mitsubishi Motors can continue to contribute.
This pandemic is one of the most challenging times we have faced as a nation and thus we must step up and breach the support needed especially now where COVID-19 infections are at their highest. We thank our brave frontliners who worked tirelessly for us all,” said its Chief Executive Officer Tomoyuki Shinnishi.
