Here Comes The Most Anticipated Enhanced Perodua Myvi Facelift
Syarikat Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd, the largest national carmaker in Malaysia, has launched the facelifted 2022 Perodua Myvi at a starting price of RM 45,700.
Available in five variants: the 1.3 G (without PSDA), 1.3 G, 1.5 X, 1.5 H, and 1.5 AV.

Powering the Perodua Myvi is either the 1.3-litre 1NR-VE that produces 94 hp and 121 Nm of torque or the 1.5-litre 2NR-VE engine that generates 102 hp and 137 Nm of torque. It is mated to the new Dual Mode Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Perodua claims that the fuel consumption has been improved from 21.1 km per litre (km/l) to 22.2km/l with this new transmission.
“The Dual Mode CVT will further enhance transmission efficiency, is lightweight and compact-sized, provide powerful and smooth acceleration at low speeds and will make the vehicle quieter while increasing fuel efficiency,” said its president and chief executive officer Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
Zainal added that the new Myvi would have a 5 percent improvement or an additional 1km for every litre of fuel and a 20 percent improved acceleration thanks to these improvements.

The range-topping variant comes equipped with a glossy black grille, front and side skirting, spoiler, two-tone rear bumper, 15-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, auto on-off LED headlamps with follow-me-home and leaving home functions, electrically auto-folding side mirrors, chrome outer door handles, a mix of analogue and TFT screen instrument cluster, leather seats with red finishings, smart entry and push to start button, built-in smart tag, multi-function leather steering wheel, infotainment system with ‘Smart Link’ function, accompanied by four speakers.

As for the safety aspects, the 1.5 AV variant comes with six airbags, front, side and curtain, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, vehicle stability control, traction control, emergency stop signal, hill-start assist, ISOFIX child seat mounting points, and the Perodua Smart Drive-Assist (PSDA) that includes the ASA 3.0. It has features like the pre-collision warning, pre-collision braking, pedal misoperation control, front departure alert, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, adaptive cruise control, lane keep control, blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic, reverse camera, and the auto high beam.

The New Myvi consists of a new colour, Cranberry Red, only available for the AV. Other colours include Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Granite Grey and Electric Blue. However, Lava Red is not available for the AV.
The Perodua Myvi 1.3 G and 1.3 G variants retailed at RM 45,700 and RM 47,700, respectively. As for the 1.5 variants, the 1.5 X and 1.5 H variants are priced at RM 49,900 and RM 53,900, respectively.
Meanwhile, the range-topping variant - the AV, carries a price tag of RM 58,800. All prices mentioned are on-the-road, excluding insurance and with the ongoing SST exemption that ends on June 30, 2022. Every Perodua Myvi is covered by five-year or 150,000km, whichever comes first warranty.

“This is the first time in Malaysian history that a car company is offering a car with autonomous level 2 technology priced under RM 60,000,” Zainal expressed.
The Perodua Myvi has received 4,303 bookings since the company opened for bookings nine days ago, and it cost RM 50 million to develop. To date, more than 1.3 million units sold and 277,329 units are the third generation Myvi.
“We are thankful to our customers and all Malaysians for the support shown to both Perodua and the new Myvi,” Zainal said.

Zainal mentioned that the company will not meet its 214,000 vehicles sales target set earlier this year, mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic that impacted its vehicle production with intermittent stops to halt the spread of the virus. The semiconductor chip supply shortage is still an issue for manufacturers worldwide as chipmakers struggle to meet the demand.
“These challenges have taken a toll on our production volume, while we are unable to reveal how much of an impact at the moment,” said Zainal.
At the same event, Perodua has introduced a value-added all-inclusive vehicle subscription service called Perodua EZ MOBi. It helps companies manage their vehicle fleet from the time of procurement, servicing, and fleet replacement.
“In essence, EZ MOBi represents Perodua’s value contribution towards its customers growing mobility needs. The overall package includes vehicle registration, insurance renewal, servicing cost, part replacement cost, courtesy car, vehicle disposal and replacement under one subscription plan,” Zainal explained.
The Perodua EX MOBi subscription plan factors all costs of owning and operating a vehicle except fuel usage. However, for now, this service is only available in Klang Valley and for business entities, as well as government agencies.
