A New Contender In The E-Segment SUV, Hyundai Presents Malaysia With The All-New Palisade

Slated to roll out this month, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) launches the all-new Palisade, its first full-size flagship SUV in Malaysia.
A complete built-up unit from Ulsan, Korea, the Palisade comes with a new chassis that sports exceptional three row spaciousness, generous cargo area and reconfiguration flexibility.
Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors’ managing director, Low Yuan Lung, commented, “The Hyundai Palisade will be a new contender in the E-segment SUV, boasting cutting-edge technology, a host of advanced safety features including Hyundai’s Smartsense, ample space and an elegant design. It is Hyundai’s largest SUV with a long wheelbase. Its practical all-purpose build is great for off-roading, road trips and even for daily use.”
Forming a synergy between aesthetics and performance, the Palisade is a new-generation SUV that embodies Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design concept.

In which, it harmonizes the fundamental design elements of proportion, architecture, styling and technology.
To begin with, the front end can be seen with a dominant, bold and wide cascading grille that clearly signifies a premium SUV.
Creating a strong and distinctive front demeanor, it is further perfected by separated composite headlamps and a vertically connected forward lighting signature.
Not to forget, the lighting setup comes with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED turn-signal mirrors.
Besides that, its extended hood profile creates a powerful road presence while its bold C-pillars and panoramic glass side graphic convey generous third-row spaciousness.
Panning to the side, the most notable features are the full volume over-fenders and muscularly detailed body contours.

Flipping to the back, the rear end emphasizes a wide and stable stance through sinuous detailing and a vertical LED rear tail lamp design.
Also present is a panoramic rear glass coupled with a cutaway roof that further provides a generous sense of spaciousness to rear passengers.
Transitioning inside, the interior design combines a sense of relaxation and comfort that creates a serene environment with seven or eight-passenger seating standard for family adventures.
The seats are enveloped with premium, quilted Nappa leather, while on the instrument panel is a smooth woodgrain trim in a wraparound design that creates a spacious, comfortable ambience.
Next, it features a One-Touch second row seat that allows for single-touch operation for easy access into and out of the third-row seat.
Interestingly, the second row also has captain chairs with ventilated seating surfaces. However, they are only available with the seven-seater version.
Something noteworthy to mention, every Palisade seating row comes with USB outlets for the convenience of all passengers.
Then, featuring an industry-first, it has an innovative new roof vent diffuser design that can provide a focused, partially-diffused or fully-diffused stream of air to rear passengers.
This new diffuser vent design provides quieter rear air conditioning airflow, draft-free operation, more uniform distribution of air and the capability for a focused stream of air whenever desired.

Performance-wise, the Palisade offers more standard power than any other SUV in its competitive set and an unsurpassed level of torque.
For the petrol variant, it is powered by a 3.8-litre V6, dual CVVT, direct-injected engine that produces 295 PS (291 hp) of power at 6,000 rpm and 355 Nm of torque at 5,200 rpm.
Whereas for the diesel variant, it is powered by an R2.2 CRDi inline 4 engine that produces 200 PS (197 hp) of power at 3,800 rpm and 440 Nm of torque at 1,750 to 2,750 rpm.
Said engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with a multi-plate torque converter and offers both two-wheel and HTRAC four-wheel-drive configurations.
That said, bookings for the Palisade are open at all Hyundai showrooms, plus online bookings are also available via its new online shopping platform, at www.hyundai.com.my/clicktobuy/.
