A Thoroughbred For The Circuit And The Road, Porsche Malaysia Presents The All-New 911 GT3

Represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), Porsche Malaysia presents the all-new 7th generation 911 GT3 at the world-famous Sepang International Circuit.

Shifting pure racing technology into a production model more systematically than ever before, the 911 GT3 is a brilliant driving machine that is exciting, precise and high-performing.

Sime Darby Auto Performance’s chief executive officer, Christopher Hunter, said, “Motorsport has always been a core tenet of the Porsche brand identity, and the 911 GT3 has long exemplified this passion for racing by transferring every ounce of expertise gained on the track onto the road. With the launch of the all-new 911 GT3, we are giving our customers the purest driving thrills possible behind the wheel of a Porsche 911.”

Uniquely perfect for the track and balanced for everyday use, the all-new 911 GT3 is able to set a Nürburgring lap time of 6:59.927 minutes, approximately 17 seconds faster than its predecessor.

Its strength comes in the form of its naturally aspirated 4.0-litre 6-cylinder, which develops an output of 375 kW (510 PS/503 hp) and 470 Nm of maximum torque.

When equipped with the standard 7-speed PDK, the 911 GT3 is capable of a top speed of 320 km/h, making it considerably faster than the previous 911 GT3 RS.

Interestingly, enthusiasts can configure their 911 GT3 with a 6-speed manual GT sports gearbox, or opt for the GT3 Touring Package at no additional cost.

“While the 911 GT3 makes for an ideal Sepang companion for the active community of track-going Porsche owners here in Malaysia, those who prefer to experience the dynamic qualities of the GT3 in a more understated fashion across longer journeys can go for the Touring Package which transforms the GT3 into a more road-oriented grand tourer (GT),” Hunter added.

To dissect further, being a true road-legal GT race car, the 911 GT3 inherits elements straight from its racing ancestry.

Particularly, it features a double-wishbone front suspension layout adopted from the Le Mans-winning 911 RSR race car.

Through which, it results with specific geometry and calibration that changes the car’s turn-in behaviour that allows for sure-footed agility on the racetrack.

Furthermore, the car’s sophisticated aerodynamics with swan-neck rear wing mounting and striking diffuser also comes from the 911 RSR.

Said elements allow for approximately 50 percent more downforce than before without affecting the drag coefficient.

Additionally, the manually-adjustable rear wing and diffuser can also be set to increase aerodynamic downforce by up to 150 percent to assist drivers in managing higher cornering speeds.

Other than that, more racing elements can be found in its 6-cylinder boxer engine. For instance, the flat-six boxer is capable of revving up to 9,000 rpm, and is based on the drivetrain of the 911 GT3 R.

Renowned for its acoustics, the 4.0-litre engine features individual throttle bodies for each of its six cylinders and is utilised practically unchanged in the new 911 GT3 Cup.

However, despite having a wider body, larger wheels, as well as additional technical and safety features, the new 911 GT3 tips the scales on par with its predecessor.

Equipped with the standard 6-speed manual transmission, the GT3 weighs just 1,418 kg. Whereas, with the 7-speed PDK, it weighs in at 1,435 kg.

Notably, this low overall weight figure was made possible through extensive use of lightweight materials.

I.e., front bonnet and rear wing made from carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP), windows made from lightweight glass and the small LiFePO4 unit starter battery.

That’s not all, its forged lightweight wheels and sports exhaust system are also responsible for a weight reduction of more than 10 kg.

As aforementioned, the 911 GT3 comes with a Touring Package option. Though more discreet and subtle in appearance it still delivers the same high performance expected from a GT vehicle.

Featuring a 6-speed manual GT sports gearbox as standard, the 911 GT3 with Touring Package is offered as a distinguished alternative to the purist 911 GT3.

Then, the most noticeable difference when equipped with the Touring Package is the omission of the fixed rear wing of the 911 GT3.

Instead, in its place is an automatically extending rear spoiler which offers the necessary downforce at high speeds while maintaining a more understated aesthetic.

Plus, another distinguishing feature are the silver-coloured trim strips made of high-gloss anodised aluminium on the side windows and the exterior colour painted front end.

Complementing that is the rear lid grille, which features a unique ‘GT3 Touring’ logo positioned above the silver finished signature Porsche lettering.

Besides that, almost all optional equipment available for the 911 GT3 can be specified in combination with the Touring Package.

This includes all exterior and wheel colours, LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS) and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).

Extending that list are the lift system on the front axle, seat variations, assist systems, audio systems and the Sport Chrono package.

Transitioning inside, the racing genes of the all-new Porsche 911 GT3 are further expressed within the cabin as well.

Designed akin to the current 992 generation, its GT3-specific instrument cluster features a central rev counter, flanked by two high-resolution 7.0-inch displays which comes with the new track screen.

Significantly, this feature allows the driver to simplify the digital displays to prioritise track info such as tyre pressure, oil pressure, oil temperature and fuel tank level at the touch of a button.

Moreover, it also includes a visual shift assistant with coloured bars to the left and right of the rev counter and a shift light to facilitate more accurately-timed gear changes.

Like all 992 generation 911 models, infotainment in the 911 GT3 is centred on a high-resolution 10.9-inch touchscreen display.

Highly advanced, it comes with the latest Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with online navigation and Porsche Connect Plus.

Subsequently, it also supports the Porsche Track Precision App, which helps drivers better their track sessions and improve lap times by providing detailed driving data, live displays and video analyses.

On another note, following heightened demand for customised equipment among Porsche GT models, the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur range has been updated to include GT3-specific options.

E.g., exposed carbon fibre lightweight roof, carbon exterior mirror tops, darkened LED matrix headlight bases and matching Exclusive Manufaktur design rear lights.

If that’s not enough, optional Guards Red or Shark Blue painted wheel rims allow owners to enhance the visual impact of the black alloy wheels.

Next, equipment details in the cabin such as the dials for the rev counter and Sport Chrono stopwatch, seatbelts and trim can also be customised to almost any colour of choice.

For even more exclusivity, Porsche offers its special ‘Paint to Sample’ programme for an ultimate exterior personalisation.

Offered with 105 classic shades from Porsche’s past catalogue, it ranges with numerous bespoke possibilities according to a customer’s choice.

All in all, the Porsche 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 with Touring Package is now open for pre-order at all Porsche Centres in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM 1,766,244.00 with SST exemption.
