This time around, Leasys has revealed its planning to carry out the mobility revolution project. The company has a mission to go wholly electric, flexible, and environmentally friendly by 2024.
By 2024, Leasys will have a 75 percent electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles fleet, 100 percent by 2027. With a total of more than 500,000 vehicles in its long, medium, and short-term rental fleet.
Also, almost 3,000 fast charging points will be operational by 2023 in the 12 countries where Leasys actively operates in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, United Kingdom, and Spain.
It has been revealed that to implement the new electrification strategy fully, and several mobility solutions will be offered “from a minute to a lifetime”. For occasional use of vehicles, there is the pay-per-use product Leasys Miles which provides long-term rental.
In addition to Leasys Unlimited, customers will have the option of renting hybrid and electric models from Stellantis Group. It includes everything needed on a single bill for complete peace of mind rental experience, including unlimited miles and one initial payment for the first time.
As a result of Leasys' acquisition of Easirent in July 2021, it expanded its short-term rental, subscription services and started its electric revolution in the UK. The agreement further strengthens Leasy's position as a leader in 360-degree mobility in the UK and mainland Europe.
A part of the fleet's switch to electric vehicles, Leasys also offers customers the chance to drive and experience the all-electric Fiat New 500.
Furthermore, the 'mobility revolution' also significantly affects the financial sector. The company plans to place a €500 million (RM 2.4 billion) green bond in July 2021, and a fixed-rate coupon of zero percent will be paid when the note matures in July 2024.
The FCA Bank and Stellantis are marking a significant milestone with this transaction since it is their first of its kind. Over 129 investors contributed to the Green Bond, which raised €2.3 billion (RM 11.01 billion).
Consequently, Leasys will be able to expand its fleet of low emissions vehicles and its fast-charging points, further contributing to the electrification of its operations.
