Mitsubishi Triton Driving Against Flow Under The Influence Of Drugs, Claims Lives Of Two Teenagers

A pickup vehicle, which was reported to be a Mitsubishi Triton, was driven against the current by a man under the influence of drugs resulting in an accident that claimed two lives.
The victim was Nur Afiqah Abdul Karim, 18, the driver of the Proton Wira Aeroback car and the passenger, Muhammad Hafiz Syami Dzul Asri, 19. Both were confirmed dead by the Ministry of Health (MOH) after suffering severe injuries.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Norazam Khamis said they received a report at 1.51 am on Sunday regarding the accident at Kilometer 8.5 of the Federal Highway.

“Preliminary reports of the accident involved a Mitsubishi Triton vehicle driven by a man against the current which had collided with a Proton Wira Aeroback driven by a woman with a male passenger.
"The incident has caused the victims to be stuck in the front in which both suffered serious injuries, and was successfully removed by the fire department and later on confirmed dead by the MOH," he said when contacted today.
The driver who was the cause of the accident was reported safe.

Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Baharudin Mat Taib said they had performed a urine test on the 24-year-old Mitsubishi Triton driver and found him positive for cannabis.
The suspect was taken to court for a remand application, and the case was investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Driving under the influence of drugs brings consequences.
As a result of irresponsible driving under the influence of drugs, the suspect could be jailed for between two to 10 years with a fine of not more than RM20,000 for reckless driving resulting in death.
As drivers, it is important to think about the lives of others who also use the same road and not just ourselves.
