Significantly closing the past year strongly with total sales of 2,229 units, which is a 14.3 percent increase from the previous year.
On top of that, the sale of 2,229 units also sets a new record for the highest sales performance since the establishment of Volvo Car Malaysia.

Notably, on a global scale, Volvo Cars sales grew by 5.6 percent to 698,693 cars in the full year 2021 and almost 73 percent of all new Volvo cars sold in Malaysia were Recharge models.
Said outcome also demonstrated the continued popularity of Volvo Cars’ Recharge line-up of cars with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The sales of Recharge models grew by 63.9 percent in 2021, compared with 2020 and also it made up 27 percent of the company’s total sales volume in 2021.
At which, almost 40 percent of all new Volvo cars sold in December were Recharge models, whereof fully electric cars made up 7.4 per cent.

Volvo Car Malaysia’s managing director, Charles Frump, concluded, "We are proud of our record-breaking achievements in 2021. Despite a challenging year, we have gained customers' confidence in providing them with the freedom to move in a personal, sustainable and safe way. The collective efforts of our dealers and staff have laid the groundwork for an electrifying 2022, encouraging us to charge towards our goal of becoming a fully electric car company by 2030."
