The Spiritual Successor Of The LFA Supercar, Lexus’ Electrified Supercar Concept

Revealed at Toyota’s big EV press conference, Lexus announces its transition into a fully electrified brand by 2035.
As such, along with a range of 15 concepts showcased for its parent company, Toyota, and the Lexus brand itself, one of the four Lexus concepts stood out.

The latter being a new full-electric supercar inspired by the LFA, and even though the details are sparse, some preliminary performance targets have been shared.
For instance, the unnamed ‘super-EV’ is supposedly able to go from 0 to 96 km/h in just over two seconds.

That suggests it could feature a dual-motor setup that develops a combined 750 hp to 800 hp, which is comparable to what is available in the market today.
Interestingly, this setup revs up the electric successor to be more powerful than the LFA by a power margin of 200 hp.

While the battery capacity is still unknown, the ‘super-EV’ is said to be capable of 435 miles (700 km) of range, meaning it is able to offer 175 miles (282 km) more than the Porsche Taycan Turbo.
In terms of its fire-breather inspiration, the Lexus LFA was powered by a free-breathing 4.8-litre V10 engine that revs from idle to 9,000 rpm in 0.6 seconds.

Notably, the concept seems to be a preview of the design direction Lexus is looking to take, and what the successor to the LFA could look like.
To begin with, it features a long bonnet resembling a Grand Tourer silhouette with sharp design creases and pointed headlights that just look stunning.

Akin to the LFA, it also features an intake behind the side windows that creates a smooth crease on the body as it integrates into the door, runs along it, and flows to the vents behind the front wheels.
Reflecting a coupe-esque shape, the roofline slopes down into a teardrop shape, resulting in the rear-end to have a radical supercar type layout.

Albeit the triple exhaust pipes of the LFA are missing, the design still remains as it integrates into the large diffuser.
All in all, apart from this outstanding ‘super-EV’ concept, three other concepts from the Lexus brand include the Lexus RZ crossover, and two other unnamed full-size SUV and sedan.
