Porsche Cayenne As First Model Assembles Locally
Pursuant to Sime Darby’s aim to open more job opportunities among Malaysians, the company announced Porsche's first manufacturing hub in Kulim, Kedah.
In Malaysia, a few Porsche models has been in the market including 6 sedan, 3 SUV, 1 Hybrid and EV ranging its price from RM150,900,00, carrying the lowest tag price for Porsche Taycan.

Having Porsche’s own production here gives benefits to ASEAN market allowing Sime Darby to cultivate its business alongside serving locals as employees to work in the automotive industry.
As the first model to get its chips and structures being made locally, Porsche Cayenne will begin its price from RM550,000,00 revealed last year, which compared to CBU model it costs more than RM660,000,00 per unit.

Porsche AG executive board member for sales and marketing Detlev von Platen mentioned the manufacturing hub was a new milestone for the company and fulfilled the company’s hope to have more Malaysian Porsche car enthusiasts.
The event was officiated by the Raja Muda of Kedah, Tengku Sarafuddin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin, together with Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

“We are honoured by Porsche’s continued trust in Sime Darby as we deliver a product consistent with Porsche’s highest standards for quality, performance and driving experience,” stated Sime Darby group chief executive officer Jeffri Salim Davidson in a joint statement with Porsche AG released by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).
The luxury midsize SUV equipped with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), 12-inch HD digital screen Communication Management system, Apple CarPlay, multifunction sports steering wheel with gearshift paddles and glorious 21-inch tyres.
