Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Debuted in South Africa - 5 Seater SUV with 1.5 litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine

With its recent debut in South Africa for Distinctive and Executive variants, Chery is already a step ahead by planning to ‘land’ one of its Tiggo 7 Pro to Malaysia anytime soon. 

The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro comes with a five-year/60,000 km service plan, five-year unlimited mileage roadside assistance, five-year/150,000 km general mechanical warranty and offers a comprehensive 10-year/1,000,000 km engine warranty.

Riding on 18-inch wheels, Tiggo 7 Pro is powered by 1.5 litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine which transmits 145horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 210 Nm of torque between 1,750 and 4,500 rpm to the front wheels via an electronically controlled CVT with nine virtual ratios. 

In terms of design, the fascia is adorned with a galaxy-inspired geometric matrix diamond front grille and extended headlights that merged with distinctive creased shoulder line which portrays sporty look for SUV series.

Then, the rear includes an edge-to-edge lightbar tail lamp, while a roof spoiler and dual faux exhausts are standard. On top of that, the boot of Tiggo 7 Pro carries either 475 litres or 1,500 litres if the 60:40 back seats are folded down.

Cabin wise, the SUV offers durable black synthetic leather with contrasting stitching and a six-way powered driver’s seat along as well as a four-way powered front passenger seat in the Executive variant. 

Then, drivers get to enjoy the leather-clad steering wheel includes infotainment and voice command controls and adjustable in four directions.

There are three separate screens:

- 7-inch customisable digital instrument panel in front of the driver

- 10.25-inch centre console LCD (includes vehicle information, infotainment, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and reverse camera display)

- A flush-mounted screen that integrates physical switches and the dual-zone climate control, featuring surgical-level N95 air filtering.

Safety aspects, Tiggo 7 offers ISOFIX, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Emergency Brake Assistance (EBA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

The Executive variant adds six airbags, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and a 360-degree around-view monitor.
