Beam introduces zero-emissions campaign to bolster local adoption
Beam Mobility launched its 'Drive Something New Today' campaign last weekend, with the aim of encouraging more consumers to adopt zero-emissions alternative transportation such as e-scooters.
The use of e-scooters could create an emission-free transportation ecosystem in line with the UN's 2025 Zero Emissions goal.

On top of providing greater potential exposure for local businesses through the Beam Booster programme, the campaign could also encourage Beam riders to make pit-stops or end their journeys right in front of a Beam partner’s doorstep, thus generating interest and generating greater revenues for their business.

Using e-scooters for an individual person travels within a city, Beam aims to complement the existing public transport ecosystem as a convenient, accessible, and perhaps healthier way to move around.
For every 10km ridden on a Beam instead of a car, riders could save up to 2.65kg in CO2 emissions.

According to a recent poll held by Beam in May 2022, almost 50 percent of the 1,800 Beam riders agree that access to e-scooters for the “first or last mile” of any journey has made them more likely to consider using public transportation as an option for long journeys instead of using cars or ride-hailing services.
‘’Moving between places that are too far for a comfortable walk, and too short a distance to drive, is solved with our e-scooters” stated Head of Public Affairs Beam Mobility Malaysia, Taty Azman.

Beam e-scooters are also brimmed with geofencing tech that ensure its e-scooter riders stay within designated areas that have been gazetted for micro-mobility vehicle use by local councils and regulators.
This also enables other features such as Beam’s proprietary virtual parking tech that encourages proper use and return of e-scooters. This works in tandem with Beam's speed-limiting tech (capped at 25KM/H) which prevent users from going too fast, especially when riding downhill.
