Beam Is Now Available In 6 Cities, Has Over 800,000 Users
Beam Malaysia announced this week that it is now present in six major cities in Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur, Ampang Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Kuantan, and Langkawi. Furthermore, the company saw a 66% increase in sign-ups last year compared to 2022, with a user database of over 800,000 people now. Beam Malaysia claims in a press release that its presence in these six major cities has had a positive impact on how citizens move around. Riders travelling to or from a public transportation facility such as the MRT, LRT, or bus station took 100,000 trips on Beam's e-scooters in the Klang Valley alone. According to the company, this is a clear indication that Malaysians are open to using Beam's e-scooters to complete the first and last mile of their journeys. Furthermore, the total distance travelled on Beam's shared e-scooters in 2022 was over 2,000,000 KM.
With its strong performance in 2022 and changing public perception of shared micromobility services, Beam Malaysia stated that it intends to offer its shared e-scooters in as many Malaysian cities as possible, with the goal of improving city flow while giving back to the environment. As a result, the company is offering a Weekly Pass promo that allows users to enjoy unlimited rides starting at RM9.99 per week. This pass is valid for 15 minutes per day and can be used as a first and last-mile transportation option. Aside from that, frequent Beam users can benefit from Beam's 50% off promotion on its Zero Unlock Fees Monthly Pass.
From now until Feb 28, 2023, users can purchase the pass for RM10 and enjoy zero unlock fees on any Beam e-scooter, ideal for those who use Beam's e-scooters frequently or simply for fun. Visit Beam Malaysia's official Facebook or Instagram pages for more information.
The Beam app can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play Store, and first-time registrations can earn RM5 in free credits by completing the in-app Beam Safety Quiz.
