Smart Sports Car (SSC) SC-01, China's "National Sports Car" At RM190K

Extremely sleek and compact design.
A Chinese news site SOHU, brought to light Small Sports Car (SSC) a small start-up car manufacturer in China launching its maiden sports car named SC-01. SSC has from the get-go made bold claims that it is China’s “national sports car” offering pure driving pleasure.
The SC-01 is a small two-seater electric sports coupe which would cost around USD42,000 (RM190,000) would begin delivery in Q4 of 2023.
Based on SOHU’s report, the SC-01 would be 4085mm in length, 1820mm wide, 1162mm high and weight 1300kg. This puts it in a similar class category with the likes of Audi TT and Alpine A110.

The all electric SC-01 would have all four wheels powered by electric motors with the drive battery mounted towards the rear. It is claimed to produce 429bhp and is capable of sprinting to the 100 mark in a remarkable 3.9 seconds.
According to SSC, The rear bias mid-mounted battery design was chosen to help manage weight distribution and to enable SC-01 driver seating position to be as close to the ground as possible. This in turn also helps in keeping the car's height lower.
For this project SSC has opted to employ a space-frame chassis with F1 style horizontal pushrod shock absorbers. The space-frame chassis helps in improving the SC-01’s body rigidity.
In the cock-pit, SSC has very the minimalist route, with all old school switches and buttons instead of the typical EV ways of infotainment screen. The SC-01 is claimed to deliver a NEDC range of 500KM.
