BMW Group strengthens its Ice Track partnerships with the BSD, IBSF, and FIL

The partnership between BMW Group and the German Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton Federation (BSD) began around 40 years ago with aerodynamic advances in the BMW wind tunnel, which are still part of the cooperation today.
Every detail counts in athletics where the outcome is determined by fractions of a second. The BMW Group's engineers have assisted the BSD on a variety of projects, including the optimization of runners, helmets, spikes, individual components, and the racing line, employing analysis, measurement, and manufacturing methods from automotive development and production.

BMW created the world's only bobsleigh simulator for the BSD in Munich for the 2022 Winter Olympics. This gave the drivers months to familiarise themselves with the strange Olympic track.
“We are thrilled to be able to continue the long-term technology partnership with BMW. In these challenging and turbulent times, it is particularly important to have reliable partners with valuable expertise on your side,” stated Member of the Board of Management of the BSD, Alexander Resch.

As part of the cooperation, several players, trainers, and BSD officials will be using electrified BMW vehicles. BMW will also showcase the fully electric BMW iX1 at World Cup events as well as the world championships for bobsled, skeleton, and luge.
Beginning on November 24 in, the 2022–23 BMW IBSF Bob & Skeleton World Cup will kickstart in Canada. Meanwhile, the BMW IBSF Bob & Skeleton World Championships will be held in St. Moritz from January 26th to February 5th, 2023. (Switzerland). In addition, the new season for luge and skeleton athletes begins on December 3, 2022.
