With a slow release from Tegalluar Station in Bandung, the test of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (HSR) electrical system commences.
The test is to ensure that the propulsion power supply system of the Chinese-made high-speed train meets the requirements to carry out a series of joint tests in the future.
During the one-day trial, all functions were carefully tested, where vital indicators and parameters have fully met the design criteria, laying a solid basis for dynamic testing in the next step.
According to Xinhua news agency, this is the first appearance on the Jakarta-Bandung HSR track for the high-speed train, since its arrival in Indonesia on 1 September.
Notably, as of last 12 October, 88.8% of the project’s work has been completed, and is said to be operational come June 2023.
Developed with Chinese technology, it has a design speed of 350 Km/h, and will reduce travel time between Jakarta and Bandung from over three hours to just 40 minutes.
All in all, President Jokowi says the Jakarta-Bandung HSR will be integrated with other modes of transportation to become part of an international connectivity among ASEAN countries.
