Zyrus Engineering Spiced Up The VW ID Buzz So Well That We Want One Now!
The Volkswagen (VW) ID Buzz has somewhat created a buzz in the auto industry as the past hippy mobile is recreated into a modern EV while maintaining its design que closely to the original Volkswagen Combi. Having said that for those who remember, the Volkswagen Combi was immensely popular in the customization scene and carries the nickname “hippie mobile”.
With production of the VW ID Buzz being ramped up as demand has been overwhelming it is given a clear indication that this is the VW that the general public wants offering electrified technology shelled in a modernised classic body. Now with VW Malaysia not announcing its availability in Malaysia, how is this relevant to us? Fret not, there are a few units of this VW ID Buzz coming our way thanks to the folks at G-Mart Group.
Should you acquire one and would like to give it a sporty edge, you'll need something like this carbon fibre aero package made by Norwegian company Zyrus Engineering. It completely changes the way the electric bus looks, especially if you want to add those gorgeous wheels as well.
Zyrus calls this kit the "Z Buzz," and although it is now only a collection of renderings, it hopes to start selling it in the first quarter of 2023. Those who have ordered the Volkswagen ID Buzz and are already aware that they do not want to keep it in stock are thought to be the driving force behind its development; nonetheless, the business ultimately opted to make it available to everyone who wishes to purchase one.
The package includes a front splitter with side winglets, side skirts that visibly lower the cars, a rear aggressive diffuser, and maybe the kit's most eye-catching component, a large and obvious roof spoiler. A set of 22-inch "bespoke carbon aerodisk" wheels will cost extra, but they do seem to go well with the appearance of the modified Buzz. The custom carbon fibre mirror caps are also included in the kit.
Zyrus Engineering in Norway created and produced all the components, and the company will charge €11,900 (RM56,000) for the kit. If you also want the wheels, you'll have to pay an additional €4,999 (RM24,000). You can choose to have the parts painted or left as visible carbon fibre when ordering the kit. The carbon fibre can be treated with either a glossy or matte clear coat.
With the ID Buzz reaching its first customers beginning last month, we certainly are getting closer to see this kit finally being fitted onto an actual car. Volkswagen had announced before that there were over 20,000 bookings received and plans to deliver 15,000 units of the VW ID Buzz by December this year.
