Police-Issued Lamborghini Huracan Are Used to Transport Two Kidneys!

With many super performance cars wreaking havoc in streets and expressways, law enforcement forces are forced to step-up their highway patrol game by issuing high-performance cars as part of their fleet. Purposely commissioned to chase down illegal street racers or any kind of vehicle pursuit, some of these performance patrol cars are being utilised for an entirely different, but equally beneficial purpose.

Such a case happened in Italy, where a police-issued Lamborghini Huracan, dubbed as the Huracan LP 610-4 Polizia, was used by the force to deliver life-saving organs for needy patients across the country. Donated by Lamborghini to the Italian State Police, the Huracan patrol car travelled for hundreds of miles to complete this rather chivalrous feat.
The local authorities, together with Italian State Police and medical crews made the most use of the Huracan’s puny cargo space by fitting two kidneys that are needed to be delivered to patients for organ transplant operations.

This nat-asp V10-powered beast began its life-saving journey from Padua in northern part of Italy to a hospital in Modena, where one patient was waiting to receive one of the two kidneys the car transported. Then, it continued its crusade by rolling down the seven hills of Rome, where another patient was waiting for a kidney transplant.
In total, the Huracan LP 610-4 Polizia covered a total distance of 569 KM throughout this life-saving campaign.

The two kidneys were transported inside a cool box that snugs well into the Huracan’s tiny 100-litre front boot space. This special Huracan police patrol comes equipped with proper policing gears, including dedicated roof lights, video and radio equipment, as well as an onboard defibrillator.

Draped in Italian State Police’s livery, the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 Polizia harnesses a 5.2-litre V10 mill that outputs around 610 HP, which grants it a V-Max of 325 KM/H – more than enough power to fulfil this chivalrous deed.
