AC Schnitzer Tunes The BMW M3 Touring To Over 600 HP!

Right out of the box, it’s safe for anyone to assume that the G81-gen BMW M3 Touring promises lots of performance. The Bavarian marque did, after all, endow this long-bodied version of its M3 super-saloon with the same S58 3.0-litre straight-six turbo mill that outputs 503 HP and 650 NM.

Of course, renowned BMW tuners AC Schnitzer reckon there’s more to be had. Mirroring what it did with the base M3 saloon and its M4 Coupe twin, said tuners recently unveiled their efforts with the M3 Touring. The package consists of a full exterior aerokit plus new wheels, as well as a significant performance boost.

Firstly, two power level options are available for customers, one offering up to 590 HP, followed by another that provides up to 610 HP instead. Torque, on the other hand, has also been increased in both to 750 NM.

Much of this stems – presumably – from AC Schnitzer’s renowned prowess at tweaking BMW ECUs, followed by the addition of a new performance exhaust kit furnished with quad tips made from carbon fibre.

No performance claims were stated, but we can definitely expect this tuned version of the BMW M3 Touring to outperform the stock car’s 0-100 KM/H time of 3.6 seconds and claimed top speeds of 250 KM/H and 280 KM/H (with the M Driver’s Package added).

As for the chassis, AC Schnitzer the option between a basic lowered, stiffened tuned suspension kit next to a full-blown adjustable coilovers set are available, the latter allowing low speed and high speed compression, rebound, and adjustable lowering settings.

Next comes the choice between two 20-inch wheel designs that can be had in either Silver/Anthracite or Anthracite/Silver two-tone finishes.

As for the exterior, AC Schnitzer have designed a host of new aerodynamic parts all around. It includes a new black front splitter, canards on either side of the bumper, small deflectors on the hood, revised side skirts, deflectors on the front fenders, carbon fibre rear diffuser, as well as a roof spoiler which AC Schnitzer claims to adds a further 20 KL (44 lbs) of downforce.

Lastly, AC Schnitzer also gave the exterior a refresh. The tuner has furnished this super-estate’s innards with a new sports steering wheel, sporty aluminium paddle shifters, as well as aluminium sports pedals set.
