Upcoming McLaren 720S Successor Detailed - Expect new styling and more power

As reported prior, the McLaren 720S supercar’s production has ceased and that a successor has already been planned. In fact, allocations for said new McLaren model are reportedly sold out throughout 2024 too.
Now, details have surfaced online about the upcoming 720S successor. According to an insider source quoted by Automotive News, this supposed new McLaren ‘750S’ will pick things up right where the 720S left off, promising to close the gap with the extreme and limited-run 765LT in the process too.

This means the 750S promises to be “more aggressive” than the 720S to offer “the perfect blend” between said outgoing model and the 765LT special offshoot based on it.

Expect the 765LT’s rear-spoiler/air-brake (left) and the Artura’s digital cockpit (right) to make their way into the new ‘750S’.
The same source adds that the 750S will feature new styling inside and out, and will mirror cues from other McLaren models too. Expect a new front bumper, larger side air intakes, a 765LT-derived rear wing that doubles up as an air brake, as well as the Artura plug-in hybrid (PHEV) sportscar model’s digital infotainment and dash display screens.

The promise of heightened performance stems from use of an uprated version of the 720S’s twin-turbo V8. Said 4.0-litre mill, dubbed the M840T, will see its output boosted from 720 PS (710 HP) by at least 30 PS to 750 PS (740 HP), the latter metric figure alleging what McLaren will use for the new model’s name too.

Other details reported include McLaren’s confirmation that it has no plans to build a limited-run and more extreme LT variant of the 750S, and that both coupe and open-top ‘Spider’ body styles will be available from the get-go at launch too.
Lastly, the 750S will likely debut in April this year as McLaren is set to begin teasing it this month. The 750S is also expected to command a 10% higher asking price too, but this is somewhat expected given the promise of new looks inside and out, as well as the aforementioned performance boost.
