Would You Fancy A New Perodua Axia ‘Style’ Variant?
Okay, we promise, this will be the last post we’ll put up that’s related to the new second-generation and DNGA-based Perodua Axia that debuted earlier this week.
We’re certain the excitement for Perodua’s new supermini is waning off a little by now, but this did little at withering the wondrous thoughts of renowned local automotive render artist Chin Swee Hoe @ Theophilus Chin / @theottle.
After giving us a glimpse of how the next-generation Bezza compact sedan based on the new D74A-gen Axia might look like, Chin has now given us his vision of how the next iteration of the ‘Style’ variant of the supermini could look like.
2019 Perodua Axia 'Style'
To refresh your memory, Perodua introduced this striking variant of the Axia back in 2019. It was part of a series of updates for the model then, with the Style variant serving as a bridge between the basic plus GXtra and high-spec SE grades.
Crucially, the Style variant served to meet demands for crossover SUVs – or crossover SUV-styled vehicles, in this case – that was trending at the time. Indeed, Perodua succeeded with said effort, albeit not by putting this Axia on stilts, or priming it with all-wheel-drive (AWD).
Contributing to the extra height were the decorative roof rails and 15-inch two-tone wheels – the largest ever fitted to the model at the time. These bode well with the carbon-style surround, black body cladding, rear reflectors, clear taillights, and the signature ‘Sunrise Orange’ paint it wore.
Well, Chin has successfully replicated the ‘rugged’ crossover SUV-styled makeover in this latest render of his. What’s noteworthy here too is the replication of the old Axia Style’s tangerine hue, albeit with a black-painted roof – presumably – for added contrast.
Chin even gave this vision a set of – again, presumably – larger 15-inch alloy wheels which, along with the decorative roof rails, adds some crossover SUV-like height in the Axia’s stance. Overall, we’re certain this vision of Chin’s has gotten plenty of you chuffed.
What do you folks think, then? Should Perodua consider making a new ‘Style’ variant of the latest D74A-gen Axia supermini? Hit the comments below with your thoughts, then…
