BYD Ara Damansara 3S Centre Almost Ready For Full Operation

BYD is arguably leading the EV revolution in Malaysia. To date, over 2000 units of the BYD Atto 3 have found new owners since it was launched back in Dec 2022. This lines up perfectly with the aim of Andrew Basham, Sime Darby Motors’s Managing Director, to use the previously unheard of brand to propel Sime Darby Malaysia’s EV aspirations.
Following on from its previously announced RM500 million investment plan for its network of showrooms, BYD has established both a showroom in TREC KL and Sime Darby Motors City. Their other 3S showrooms in Penang and Johor Bahru would also be up and running this year with more outlets as such in other states set to open in the coming year.

To address concerns regarding parts, service, and warranty, the BYD Ara Damansara facility will house a five-bay service facility on the upper floor accessible via a vehicle elevator. From what we observed during a recent visit plus details from our sources, the service facility’s construction will complete this month, and an official launch is planned for May 2023.

In the interim, BYD customers can send their vehicles to the still in construction centre for servicing and warranty claims starting next month (April). All of BYD’s body and paint matters, on the other hand, are presently handled off a centralised location in Bukit Jelutong, whilst vehicles due for scheduled service are attended to at another facility in Glenmarie.

BYD hopes that by providing owners with peace of mind in their EV ownership journey, it would also empower others into switching to EVs. From what we gathered, BYD would be delivering 1000 units of the Atto 3 by April 2023, while more models like the Dolphin and Seal would be launched this year.
Additionally, BYD owners should also take note that there are two AC wallbox chargers and an 180kW two-gun (2x90 kW) StarCharge DC charger present on the grounds of the BYD Ara Damansara 3S Centre. Owners can enjoy free access to both right now as well.
