Lamborghini Sets New World Record During 60th Anniversary Parade in Japan

Automobili Lamborghini is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year by throwing a massive parade event in Japan. Taking place at the famed Suzuka Circuit, the parade saw the raging bull marque setting a new Guinness World Records for the “Largest parade of Lamborghini cars”, with a total of 251 vehicles joining the procession.

Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini Stephan Winkelmann said, “This year marks the 60th anniversary since Lamborghini was founded in 1963. The fact that so many Lamborghinis, from current models to classic cars, gathered at the internationally renowned Suzuka Circuit is proof that our brand has touched the emotions of many people here in Japan over its long history and is still so valued today.”

Said procession started off with a parade run through the Suzuka racetrack, where all 251 Lambos were participating. The 251 cars comprises some of the greatest hits ever rolled out of Lambo’s Sant'Agata Bolognese plant assembly line, ranging from the iconic Miura to recent offerings like the Countach LPI 800-4.

The parade was then continued with a road trip, dubbed as the “Lamborghini GIRO Japan 2023”, where Lambo fans were treated with a few visits in some of Japan’s most popular tourist spots around the Kyoto and Nara prefecture.

Aside from the parade, the birthday bash also saw Lamborghini displaying a slew of special models restored by the brand’s Polo Storico Department. This includes historic nameplates like the original Countach, Islero, as well as the 350 GT – the marque’s first-ever production model.

Moreover, the Italian marque also displayed the special Huracan STO model. Dubbed as the ‘Time Chaser_111100’, the special model is borne out of Lamborghini's partnership with Japanese contemporary artist, IKEUCHI. The special Huracan’s nomenclature is paying homage to Lambo’s 60th anniversary, where 111100 is actually the binary code for the number 60.

Lamborghini also used this event as an opportunity to debut the all-new Huracan Sterrato into the Japanese domestic market. Originally made its global debut at the Art Basel Miami beach 2022, the rugged-looking, off-road-ready Huracan features lifted dampers, skid plates and armoring, as well as riding on a set of bespoke Bridgestone Dueler AT002 all-terrain run-flat tyres. With a 5.2-litre V10 mill under its hood, the limited-run Huracan Sterrato makes a mean 602 HP and 560 NM.
