The Ministry of Transport (MOT) introduces its myBAS50 unlimited travelling pass initiated for the ‘’Program Transformasi Bas Berhenti-Henti’’ (SBST) in Johor Bahru.
According to a recent official announcement on Facebook, the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) asserted it's the first time federal government's initiative has been implemented outside the Klang Valley area whilst having Johor Bahru become the first state to implement it.
The good news continues as people of Johor may register their myBAS50 starting two days ago (March 13) although the aforementioned pass is only available effectively from April 1,2023.
More specifically, myBAS5O is a monthly pass with unlimited travel for Malaysian citizens strictly for 30 days. This pass can also be purchased through MyKad, My Tentera, and the Lugo app, which can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
In the meantime, the ministry includes monthly subscription payments can be made online, at Handal Indah service counters like Gelang Patah Terminal, Kulai Terminal, Johor Bahru CIQ, Senai Airport, KSL City Mall, and TF Value Mart Bukit Indah including Lugo app.
The most efficient way to use it is to simply touch MyKad/My Tentera or you may use the Lugo apps to scan the QR code when you're entering or exiting the bus. myBAS50 travelling pass is being introduced with an expectation to reduce the cost of living for bus service users which in hopes could encourage the public to commute using public transport, instead.
Currently myBAS Johor Bahru consists of 19 routes that covers 5 corridors in Johor, including Kota Tinggi, Masai, Kulai, Gelang Patah, and Pontian. For further details on myBAS50, you can learn more here.
