MyJPJ App Records 2.971 Million Users, In-App License Renewal Coming Soon
JPJ Director General, Datuk Zailani Hashim
During a recent “buka puasa” function Road Transport Department (JPJ) Director General Datuk Zailani Hashim announced that the MyJPJ mobile app adoption rate up to now is at 2.971 Million users.
This was following the agency's shift towards digitalization as announced by Minister of Transport, YB Anthony Loke during the app launch on Feb 10. Datuk Zailani also said that JPJ’s effort in promoting the app is going well so far.
He further added that for the time being the agency would like the general public to familiarise themselves with the app and by mid 2023 the MyJPJ app would be further updated with functions to even renew one's licence via the app.
Datuk Zailani also added that JPJ would use the Smart Management Enforcement Device (SMED) to cater to those who are having issues with internet coverage or do not own a data capable mobile device. With SMED, the authority would be able to access users data such as licence and road tax digitally via their identity card number.
