New ‘Collection Agents’ Don’t Replace MyJPJ, Just Add More Options - JPJ
There’s been a lot of noise lately about JPJ appointing Rider Gate (a Ramssol Group subsidiary) as an authorised collection agent with some people assuming JPJ was being “privatised” or that MyJPJ would be replaced.
But JPJ and the Transport Ministry have stepped in to clear the air. According to Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, Rider Gate is just a collector, not a replacement for JPJ’s existing apps.
"MyJPJ and MySikap remain the main official channels and will continue to be fully controlled by JPJ. Nothing is being taken over," he said.
JPJ director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli added that this isn’t something new as the agency has been appointing collection agents since 2016, and there are already ten of them, including Pos Malaysia, Puspakom, MyEG, TNG, TCSENS and more.
"These agents provide extra payment channels for things like road tax renewal, saman payments and ownership transfers, usually with a small service fee. For Rider Gate, everything is done through its digital platform," he noted.
Aedy stated that appointing a vehicle insurance platform as an agent could simplify the process, such as automatically renewing road tax when purchasing motor insurance.
"However, motorists can still renew their road tax directly via MyJPJ, MySikap, or at any JPJ counter," he added.

JPJ says it will continue monitoring all appointed agents to make sure data security, user experience and transaction safety stay up to standard and in line with the government’s push to improve digital public services.
