Subaru Creates Eco-Friendly Bags Made From Leftover Airbag Material

Subaru unveils its new sustainable and durable bag made of airbag fabric remnants through a collaboration with the leading global manufacturer of rubber and plastic automotive components, Toyoda Gosei. 

By using scraps and unused fabric materials, the Subaru x Re-S Upcycled Marche Bag will be produced in Japan by Toyoda Gosei. Previously the company also used the same method but only to make running shoes in partnership with sportswear brand Asics. 

The reason being is that fitting unused material is seen as a suitable pair especially for a reusable shopping bag where it highlights premium durability as well as its resistant ability to heat and water. 

Subaru x Re-S Upcycled Marche Bag

Following that, the “Marché bag '' which measures 550 mm tall, 340 mm wide, and 120 mm deep can be neatly folded so it fits inside your pocket. According to Subaru, it claims to be able to fit a full-size towel and other items as it has a spacious opening compartment. 

Meanwhile the fabric is stitched with light blue shade and also applicable to combine with other hues such or red/pink stripes on the handle. With a patch of reflective material between the stripes, it’s more convenient for users to go out at night time as it shines through the dark ambience plus Subaru emblem on the label.
