According to Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the open payment system for tolls has been agreed upon by twelve highway concessionaires. The system will be fully operational in September, after a dry run session in July, he says. He also stated that negotiations with other companies to participate in the implementation are still ongoing. When asked about the security of the payment system, Nanta stated that it was being discussed.

"In this regard, we consider all of the risks associated with the system."

"Which is why discussions will take time to ensure that no issues arise," he added. Separately, Nanta announced that an RM525 million road upgrading project involving the Sedenak and Pasir Gudang Motorways has begun. "This project has a timetable now that it has been approved." Plus is doing the preliminary work," he explained.

Nanta previously stated that the implementation of two projects to upgrade the Pasir Gudang highway, including road widening, is expected to reduce congestion on the route. He stated that the two approved projects, totaling RM5.2 million, would be implemented in phases, namely Phase 2B and Phase 3, and would include widening the four-lane route to six lanes.
