Launched: BMW i7 – 1 CBU Variant, Up To 600 KM Range, RM729,800

G70 BMW i7 lands in Malaysia solely in xDrive 60 M Sport guise, priced at RM729,800!
At long last, after keeping mum for almost a year since it was quietly previewed to customers locally, BMW Group Malaysia has finally announced the availability – and official pricing – of the G70 BMW i7 flagship EV saloon today.
This all-electric variant of the G70-gen 7 Series enters the Malaysian market just a month after its petrol-powered plug-in hybrid (PHEV) twins did. BMW Group Malaysia elected to introduce said electric flagship solely in i7 xDrive 60 M Sport guise, and it’s priced at RM729,800 sans insurance.

Dual-motor with AWD setup sees 544 HP and 795 NM outputs enabling 0-100 KM/H in just 4.7 secs.
As its variant name and suffix aptly indicates, this flavour of the i7 packs a dual-motor setup with all-wheel-drive (AWD). The former outputs 544 HP and 795 NM through the latter, thus enabling 0-100 KM/H in just 4.7 seconds. As for range, BMW Group Malaysia is touting WLTP figures as high as 600 KM.
Much of this rapid speed and long-distance abilities stems from the i7’s sizeable 101.7 kWh lithium-ion battery pack equipped. Crucially, besides 11 kW regular AC charging, said battery accepts DC fast-charging inputs as high as 195 kW too, the latter granting 10-80% charges in just 50 minutes.

BMW Group Malaysia shied away from detailing interior specs, but expect the i7 xDrive 60 Sport to at least mirror its 750e xDrive M Sport PHEV twin on this front.
In its press release issued today, BMW Group Malaysia did not elaborate on cabin specifications, but we’re likely to see this all-electric flavour of the G70 twin to mirror its 750e xDrive M Sport PHEV twin at least on this front.
What's certain is that this all-electric flavour of the sixth generation flagship 7 Series model will embody the model line’s new ‘Forwardism’ design language that sport striking features such as the Split BMW Iconic Glow crystal headlights and the illuminated kidney grille frame.

The marque's new 'Forwardism' design language sees striking touches present like the Split BMW Iconic Glow crystal headlight and illuminated kidney grille frame.
Beyond this, what keen prospects need to note too is the i7’s status as a fully imported (CBU) offering. This perhaps explains its RM80,000 premium over its 750e xDrive M Sport PHEV twin, which is locally assembled (CKD) instead by BMW Group Malaysia at its Kulim, Kedah assembly facility.
For the i7, BMW Group Malaysia were also keen to note the availability of the Straight Line Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia which stands to offer the model with a monthly instalment figure as low as RM8,401 (estimate based on 80% loan across a 7-year term).

5-year, unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled service are amongst the perks included in the i7's premium price tag.
Beyond which, purchases of the i7 will include the complete BMW Group Malaysia Premium Ownership Experience perks. It includes a 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty with free scheduled service, along with the BMW Roadside Assistance and Accident Hotline, BMW Group Loyalty+ App and Privileges Card, as well as access to BMW Service Online.
