He commended Modi's leadership in supporting inclusive technology and building the country's digital infrastructure. Musk also noted India's potential for renewable energy generation via solar and wind power. He also plans to deploy Starlink, SpaceX's satellite internet service to India inorder to increase internet access in rural areas.
Musk also emphasised his enthusiasm for India's future, claiming that the country offers more promise than any other significant country in the world. Musk acknowledged Tesla's interest in the Indian market in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, and he intends to finalise a location for a Tesla factory in India by this year's end.

Prior to his meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Musk visited nickel-rich Indonesia, where there is speculation about a Tesla plant. Could Indonesia and India be Gigafactories 6 and 7?
