Ford and Hertz Malaysia Sponsors SEEDS Malaysia A Next-Gen Ford Ranger XL - Promoting Agrotourism
SDAC Ford and SDRAC-Hertz Malaysia has jointly provided SEEDS Malaysia with a Next-Gen Ranger XL to support their upcoming 'Farm to Farm to Food' travelogue series. The travelogue's aim is to promote agrotourism, with a focus on natural farming which is an environmentally friendly approach gaining popularity for its sustainable practices.
Natural farming, also known as ecological farming, entails working in sync with nature, using as few synthetic inputs as possible, and putting soil health, biodiversity, and overall ecosystem resilience first.
The Next-Gen Ranger XL will serve as the main mode of transportation for the SEEDS Malaysia team during their cross-country farm tour. Its capabilities to navigate demanding terrains and remote locations, coupled with its fuel efficiency, will also help reduce costs for the social enterprise team.
The tour is set to kick-off in Sarawak in end July, coinciding with the Sarawak Agrotourism Conference & Expo (SAtCE) at Borneo Conference Centre Kuching (28th to 30th August 2023). The farm tour will then proceed to Sabah and Brunei in September, followed by Southern and Northern Peninsular Malaysia later in the year.
Turse Zuhair, Managing Director of Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford, expressed Ford Malaysia’s commitment to sustainability and supporting SEEDS Malaysia's travelogue series.
Harun Mohd Joned, Managing Director of Sime Darby Rent-A-Car–Hertz Malaysia, emphasised that this partnership would raise awareness of sustainable farming, particularly in key markets like Sabah and Sarawak, where agrotourism is gaining traction.
