SDAC-Ford Charts Positive Sales Record & Network Expansion in 2023
2023 saw SDAC-Ford charting a positive sales record while its dealer network expanded further across both East and Peninsula Malaysia.
Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the official importer and distributor of Ford cars in Malaysia, has ended 2023 with a series of achievements under its belt. Not only managed to chart record sales volume last year, the firm also saw its dealer network grow further into several key markets in Malaysia, while some of its models have bagged numerous awards and accolades locally.
Besides stellar sales performance, SDAC-Ford also welcomed the newest variant for the Next-Gen Ranger last year, namely the Ranger Platinum.
Starting with the sales performance, 2023 saw SDAC-Ford deliver 8,858 units of both the Ford Ranger and Ford Everest, reflecting Malaysian consumers’ growing trust and preference for Ford vehicles. Since making its local debut, the Next-Gen Ford Ranger has gained great acceptance and popularity within the Malaysian market, offering a wide range of options from the rugged Ranger Raptor to the posh Ranger Platinum—the latter recently launched in November last year.
Aside from charting a positive sales record, SDAC-Ford has also expanded its dealership network in 2023, especially in the burgeoning East Malaysian market. The firm acknowledged Sabah as the third-largest pick-up truck market in Malaysia by launching two new dealerships in the state. Aside from the Ford Kota Kinabalu (Penampang) outlet, the firm also welcomed its largest dealer in the state with the introduction of the Ford Kota Kinabalu (Inanam) outlet, operated by Boston Auto Dealership.
Besides Sabah, SDAC-Ford has also officially opened the Ford Kota Samarahan outlet in October 2023. Operated by Jimisar Aruna, Ford’s latest outlet in Sarawak is strategically located near a major expressway at the UniVista Commercial Centre in Kuching.
Moving on to Peninsula Malaysia, SDAC-Ford previously broke ground on its latest Ford Signature dealership, strategically located at Jalan Baru, Seberang Perai, Penang. Set to be fully operational by the end of Q2 2024, this new RM12 million project spans 46,000 sq ft and follows the latest Ford Signature Corporate Identity, featuring sixteen service bays and four vehicle display areas.
The Next-Gen Ranger Wildtrak has clinched multiple awards last year, including the prestigious Malaysia Car of the Year 2023 award for Best Truck.
Notably, several SDAC-Ford models also clinched multiple titles back in 2023, including the prestigious Malaysia Car of the Year 2023 award for Best Truck, which was won by the Next-Gen Ranger Wildtrak. Meanwhile, the Wildtrak’s more potent and rugged sibling, the Ford Ranger Raptor 3.0L V6 Twin Turbo, has received an honourable mention.

Commenting on the firm’s successes in 2023, SDAC-Ford managing director Turse Zuhair said, “We are immensely proud of the strides we made last year, resulting in 2023 being a year of unparalleled success for SDAC-Ford.”
“As we gear up for another exemplary year, we are confident that Ford will continue to shape the market as we deliver on our commitment to excellence and high customer satisfaction,” Turse added.
With a stellar 2023 performance under its belt, SDAC-Ford is poised to remain at the forefront of the segment, offering a full host of pick-up trucks that cater to everyone’s needs on top of its unparalleled ownership experience.
