ANIH Berhad, the operator of the Kuala Lumpur - Karak Highway (KLK) and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1), has confirmed the closure of a portion of the highway in both directions due to a sinkhole incident near the Bentong Toll Plaza at KM 66.2.

Users travelling from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur will be directed to exit at the Bentong Timur interchange and re-enter at the Bentong Barat interchange. Meanwhile, motorists travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan would be detoured via the Central Spine Road (CSR) interchange.

Vehicles using the Central Spine Road (CSR) from the East Coast can continue their journey to Kuala Lumpur. However, users from Kuala Lumpur heading to Gua Musang will need to exit at the Bentong Barat interchange and re-enter through the CSR Bentong interchange.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation, and users are advised to take alternative routes. At the time of this announcement, ANIH Berhad technical teams, LPT Ronda, and the police are assisting in directing vehicles to use the alternative routes indicated.

Highway users are advised to follow the directional signs and instructions from officers at the location to ensure a smooth journey.
