Karak Highway And East Coast Highway Travel Time Advisory Announced For Hari Raya - 3 Million Vehicles Expected

ANIH Berhad, the concessionaire of Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway and East Coast Phase 1 (LPT1) Highway had recently released the Travel Time Advisory (TTA) for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Labour Day holidays. The TTA would begin from 19 April to 1st May 2023.
According to ANIH Berhad, the Hari Raya traffic heading towards East Coast would build up from 19 April 2023 till 21 April while traffic heading back towards Kuala Lumpur is expected to be high from 24 April till 1st May 2023.

Radzimah Mohd Radzi, the Senior General Manager at ANIH Berhad hopes that highway users would plan their journey prior based on the TTA as it is expected more than 3 Million vehicles would be using the KLK and LPT1 as they make their way to spend time with friends and family this Hari Raya holidays.
Furthermore, ANIH Berhad would be ramping up efforts to help ease congestion by temporarily increasing its workforce support at all toll plazas by 30%. There would also be 140 RELA personnels placed in strategic locations along the highway plus a 20% increase in traffic patrol team to help smoothen the traffic flow. Additionally Emergency Response Team (ERT) from St John Ambulance, Fire Department and Police would also be roped in should the need arise.

Highways users are also advised to plan their part by ensuring there is sufficient balance in their Touch n’ Go e-wallet and card to avoid any payment related issues at the toll plazas.
Radzimah further added, “Highway users are advised to at all times drive with courtesy and stop at the designated Rest & Relax (R&R) areas if needed. They should also always abide by the speed limits and road signages for everyone's safety.”
KLK and LPT1 Highway users would be able to get up to date updates via the concessionaires Facebook and Twitter. In case of an emergency, the number to call for LPT1 is 1-700-818-700 while KLK via LLM at 1800-88- 7752.
