This Is How The Perodua Myvi EV *MIGHT* Look Like!
2023 Perodua EMO Concept scale model
During the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 earlier this year, local automaker Perodua previewed its first-ever electric concept model, cordially known as the Perodua Electric Motion Online (EMO). Albeit being a mere scale model, the EMO has truly got people talking, as the concept model somewhat bears resemblance to Perodua’s iconic model, the Myvi.

So much so that it has prompted renowned render artist Theophilus Chin – also known as Theottle – to come out with his take on this allegedly next-gen Myvi EV. Aptly named Perodua MyEV (Myvi EV), Throttle took some design cues from the EMO concept and implemented them on the current-gen Myvi facelift.

At the front, you can clearly see the MyEV looks about the same as the EMO, particularly its sharp headlights design. Apart from that, the MyEV sports prominent front bumper design with conventional front grille, instead of the faux, diamond-shaped one we saw on the EMO. Putting the MyEV and the current-gen Myvi side-to-side will reveal several similarities of both cars, especially its semi-rounded bodystyle.
For the rear part, the MyEV’s taillights design is also similar to the EMO, featuring a triangular-shaped main unit that is connected to each other via a LED light bar. Aside from that, several design cues from the Myvi can also be seen here, including the rear bumper design plus the accents at the lower part. From here, you can also see that the MyEV’s greenhouse is directly taken from the Myvi.
As for the actual EMO, Perodua has stated that this concept EV model, in its full-scale size, will be about the same size as the current-gen Myvi – snuggling it perfectly into the B-segment EV hatchback. For references, the current-gen Myvi measures 3,895 MM long, 1,735 MM wide, and with a wheelbase of 2,500 MM.
As for its hypothetical powertrain spec, Perodua said the concept EMO will have somewhat similar output figures as the Myvi. Juiced by a 50-kWh battery pack, the EMO is bestowed with a maximum EV range of 300 KM to 350 KM, Perodua claims.
As for its production, Perodua said that a full-sized concept model of the EMO will be built by the end of the year or early next year. Only by then we’ll get to know how the alleged Myvi EV will look like, including a preview on its interior design.
So folks, what do you think of this rendering of the Myvi EV by Theottle? Keen to see the new Myvi EV, or even the next-gen Myvi to remotely look like this? Or would you prefer the next-gen Myvi to become a compact SUV model like the Perodua Nexis – also rendered by Theottle? As always, don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments down below…
