Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.36 Adds A Toyota Ambulance, Among Others Things
GT7 Update 1.36 teaser trailer confirms four new vehicles added into the game.
As the new month of August unfolds, players of Playstation-exclusive driving game title Gran Turismo 7 can look forward to yet another update patch from developers Polyphony Digital. However, perhaps the biggest – literally – talking point about Update 1.36 is its inclusion of a Toyota Ambulance.
Part of four new cars added into the game, the Toyota Ambulance Himedic ’21 arrives not just with working emergency lights – like many ‘Safety Cars’ already featured – but also with working sirens, as what the update preview video above would lead to suggest.

Developers Polyphony Digital added the Toyota Himedic '21 into the game as part of Update 1.36.
Unlike the Toyota Alphard luxo-MPV added through an earlier update this year, the drive behind this Toyota Ambulance’s inclusion into the game is unclear. Certainly, it would make for some interesting player-created lobbies in the game as how the Alphard has.
Take note though, the Toyota Himedic ’21 is one of two cars that aren’t accessible right away with the latest patch. Instead, it stands as gift car for players to earn by participating in a ‘Viewers Gift campaign’ for the World Series Showdown – either on Aug 14 or Aug 21, depending on your entry.
The Toyota Himedic ’21 will eventually be available in the Brand Central section of the game, but only later this year from Sept onwards.

New to the game via Update 1.36 too is the Toyota GR Corolla Morizo Edition '22.
Also added as part of Update 1.36 is the Toyota GR Corolla hot hatch, specifically in Morizo Edition ’22 guise. Upon completing the update, players can start driving this hot hatch in practice for the Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup round seven race at Road Atlanta.
After which, the GR Corolla Morizo Edition ’22 will be gifted as a reward on Aug 28 to players who entered any round of the competition. Also, the model will be available in via Brand Central from Sept onwards too.

New to GT7 too is the much-lauded Maserati MC20 midship sportscar (left), and the classic 1958 Chevrolet Corvette C1 (right).
Next up, Update 1.36 sees the much anticipated arrival of the new Maserati MC20. Players can now virtually sample the Italian trident marque’s latest midship sportscar powered by its signature 3.0-litre ‘Nettuno’ V6 twin-turbo which, in its highest tune, grants the MC20 with 620 HP.
Alongside said Italian sportscar comes yet another new classic car in the form of the 1958 Chevrolet Corvette (C1). Representing the C1’s return, albeit in updated form over previous games’ 1954 model, it almost completes the full set of Corvette model generations available in GT7.

The 'hero car' from the upcoming Gran Turismo feature film will be gifted to all players through Update 1.36.
Lastly comes not a new vehicle per say, but one with a brand new livery. Gifted to all players for free via a special clickable in-game tile between Aug 7 and Sept 28 is the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 dressed in the same livery as used on-screen in the latest Gran Turismo feature film that releases in theatres this month.
Additionally, said new ‘hero car’ livery from the film has been added as a new livery option when purchasing the model from the Brand Central section as well.

Update 1.36 for Gran Turismo 7 rolls out from Aug 7 onwards.
Besides these new cars, Update 1.36 sees a host of other small updates and additions all round, including new ‘Extra Menu’ missions plus newly added locations in the ‘Scapes’ photography mode. As for new circuits, or new layouts of existing ones at least, this remains unclear for now.
Expect more details surrounding the latter once Update 1.36 rolls out starting today (Aug 7).
