Tesla Display Shifts Within Pavilion KL, Free Wall Connector Offer Until Oct

Tesla Motors Malaysia official launch event held last month on July 20 at Pavilion KL.
ICYMI, Tesla Motors Malaysia officially launched itself into the local market late last month. The effort saw the American EV marque occupy prime showcase and display space at the concourse of the swanky Pavilion KL shopping haven.
This week, we’ve gotten word that said display showcase has relocated. Whilst still within Pavilion KL, you will now find the Tesla display located in a new space at said mall’s Level 3. A quick recce by our colleague whilst in between meetings in the city earlier today showed that two Model Y units are still present on display as well.

Tesla Motors Malaysia has moved its display at Pavilion KL from the main concourse to a new space at Level 3. The display is also staffed by Tesla Advisors.
As a refresher, the Model Y stands as the Tesla brand’s first and, currently, sole offering for Malaysian buyers. It is priced from RM199,000 in base form, from RM246,000 in dual-motor ‘Long Range’ flavour, and from RM288,000 for the Performance guise, all sans additional options and insurance costs.
Notably, the booth is manned by Tesla Advisors, meaning visitors can place further enquiries about the brand, its products, as well as its services, there during the mall’s operation hours – 10AM to 10PM daily. Take note, purchases and bookings must still be done online via the official Tesla Motors Malaysia website.

Presently, bookings of the Model Y made until Oct 31, 2023, are eligible to claim a complimentary Tesla Wall Connector unit.
Speaking of which, CariCarz.com has also learnt that Tesla Motors Malaysia is offering the Tesla Wall Connector as a complimentary gift for bookings of the Model Y placed online now. Essentially, the Tesla Wall Connector is the brand’s name for its proprietary AC wallbox charger unit.
For Malaysia, this hardware comes primed with a 7.3-metre cable featuring a Type 2 connector dispensing up to 11.5 kW. It’s also equipped with built-in wi-fi connectivity that enables remote monitoring, as well as firmware updates. On its own, Tesla retails this hardware in Malaysia for RM2,880 sans installation costs.

Essentially, this is the official Tesla AC wallbox unit primed with a Type 2 head dispensing up to 11.5 kW. It also comes brimmed with wi-fi connectivity.
Valid for bookings placed from now until Oct 31, 2023, here are several terms and conditions for this complimentary hardware. Firstly, it must be installed at the designated address in the vehicle by a Tesla Approved installer. Secondly, said device’s installation must be completed within three months of vehicle delivery too.
Also, while the Tesla Wall Connector itself is complimentary, qualified owners will still need to bear installation costs, which starts at RM2,200 – or RM2,500 if you reside in East Malaysia. This covers standard equipment including a switch, circuit breakers, RCD, and distribution box. As for cabling, owners are levied RM36 per meter for standard cabling, or RM60 per meter for armoured cable type instead.
