600 Isuzu D-Max Owners Joins The Isuzu Merdeka Convoy 66 Across The Country
On Merdeka Day, about 600 Isuzu D-Max owners from across the country got together to participate in the Isuzu Merdeka Convoy 66. This event was organised by Isuzu Malaysia in partnership with its authorised dealerships, and parades took place at 9:15 a.m. on August 31, 2023, in 29 various places across the country.
The Merdeka Convoy 66 was Malaysia's largest-ever simultaneous procession of Isuzu D-Max cars, making it a suitable celebration for the country's 66th year of independence. The Merdeka 66 Convoy was flagged off by Kenkichi Sogo, Chief Operating Officer, at the Isuzu Jinjang shop in Kuala Lumpur. He stated that the event allowed dealers to engage with D-Max owners while also recognising the special kinship that Malaysians share.
Kenkuchi Sogo went on to say, "Our goal this year was not only to create a meaningful Merdeka celebration among our dealers and D-Max owners, but also to celebrate the unique unity that is so evident in Malaysia through a collective activity that transcends borders."
Merdeka Convoy 66 participants enjoyed a day of friendship with fellow Isuzu D-Max owners from throughout the country. Their separate dealerships organised a variety of programmes for them. Their vehicles were decked out with commemorative stickers and flags, and each participant received an event t-shirt.
Participants got the opportunity to tour durian farms, participate in a short off-roading course, spend an afternoon at the beach, explore a rainforest resort, and visit a shopping mall as part of the additional activities provided by the dealers.
The response from D-Max owners was extremely positive, with many expressing a desire to participate in more group events with other D-Max owners in order to create stronger friendships and broaden their networks in the community.
