Bermaz : Citroen & DS Owners Advised To Immediately Send In Vehicle - Takata Airbag Recall!
Bermaz Auto Alliance Sdn Bhd (BAASB), Malaysia's authorised repair centre for Citroen and DS vehicles, is recommending owners to stop driving their vehicles immediately if they have not yet performed the mandatory Takata airbag recall rectification procedures.
Furthermore, to aid affected owners' mobility during this time, BAASB will extend the use of its courtesy cars until the airbag/s replacement is completed.
BAASB has attempted to contact owners via a variety of channels, including letters, courier deliveries, emails, text messages, and phone calls, to inform them of the Takata airbag inflator recall.
According to Stellantis, Citroen and DS's parent company, this recall is related to the ongoing global Takata airbag issue, which has been extensively reported through the media, authorities, and official channels.
Since 2020, a global recall campaign for C3/C4/DS3/DS4/DS5 models manufactured between 2009 and 2017 has been in place. Owners of these vehicles have been contacted several times and strongly advised to schedule the necessary repairs as soon as possible.
Stellentis further stated that Takata airbag inflators may degrade over time, particularly in hot and humid locations, resulting in an inflator rupture upon deployment, distributing deadly debris and posing a serious risk of injury or death. Instances of fatalities attributed to this issue have been confirmed, underscoring the essential necessity for vehicle owners to take prompt action.
As a result, owners of vehicles with outstanding Takata airbag replacements are strongly encouraged to stop driving them and notify the BAASB as soon as possible.
BAASB advises owners to contact its Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Helpline at 03-7627 8818 or send an email to [email protected] for further information about the cars covered by this recall and directions on how to proceed with the mandatory, cost-FREE repair.
