UMW Toyota Motor Saw 23% Sales Jump In August
UMW Toyota Motor ended August 2023 with remarkable growth, achieving monthly total sales of 10,275 units (Toyota + Lexus), which included 10,033 units for Toyota and 242 units for Lexus, up from 8,349 units in July 2023.
Year-to-date sales were 67,283 units as of August 2023, up from 61,639 units during the same period last year, representing a 9.2% year-on-year increase. Sales increased by 13% year on year in August 2023 alone.
Toyota is also expanding its portfolio with two exciting additions to the Toyota Corolla lineup: the Corolla GR Sport variant and the 2023 Corolla IMP model. The Corolla GR Sport, which starts at RM152,800, enhances driving pleasure for enthusiasts seeking a sporty driving experience distinct from other Corolla variants.

Meanwhile, the 2023 Corolla IMP model, which starts at RM139,800, includes a number of enhancements that demonstrate Toyota's commitment to providing exceptional driving experiences.
Hilux, Fortuner, and Innova also received updates in September, with the Hilux GR Sport receiving a power boost to 224PS and 550Nm of torque. Customers will benefit from having Tailboard Assist as a standard feature on the Hilux GR Sport, Rogue, and 2.4V models. Additionally, all versions of the Hilux, Fortuner, and Innova now come standard with RFID tags, ensuring a smooth ownership experience.

Toyota has maintained and strengthened its commitment to meet diverse customer needs by providing car models with features that strike a chord strongly with our Malaysian customers, according to Datuk Ravindran K, president of UMW Toyota Motor.
In this, we are expanding our portfolio with vehicles that enrich the driving experience in every way – exemplified by the newly-launched Corolla GR Sport and 2023 Corolla IMP models, as well as feature updates for our Hilux, Fortuner and Innova range. In addition, we are maintaining our programmes that make owning a Toyota more accessible and convenient than ever,” said Datuk Ravindran.
