According to the spokesperson from ChargeSini, by 30th November, 12 Mydin outlets nationwide would be equipped with 60kW DC Charging stations as part of its first phase in collaboration with Mydin Hypermarket. The entire 24 Mydin Hypermarket expansion would be complete by March 2024.

The MoU signing ceremony which was held today at Mydin Hypermarket Corporate headquarters at USJ 1 was attended by Datuk Wira (Dr) Hj Ameer Ali Mydin, Managing Director of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad, Dato Murad Ali Mydin (Executive Director of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad), En Azwan Ahimmat, Director of Property and Finance, Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad), Mr. James Goh (ChargeSini Managing Director), Mr. Lim Wai Sang (ChargeSini Operations Director) and Mr. Eric Lim (ChargeSini Sales Director).

In his address, Datuk Wira (Dr) Hj Ameer Ali Mydin expressed his excitement about the partnership with ChargSini as a sustainability alliance as a step towards Mydin Hypermarket being a retail establishment that is prepared for the future and more convenient for its customers.

He went on to say that Mydin Hypermarket understands that moving in the direction of a greener and more sustainable future is the best course of action as the world is forced to deal with the problems of climate change and the rising cost of gasoline. The electric vehicle (EV) market has become a ray of hope.

Datuk Wira (Dr) Hj Ameer continues by stating that the Mydin Hypermarket chain keeps on pursuing EV charging facilities despite the low usage of EVs, particularly among its client segments, as it perceives a need for significant encouragement in order for development in EV adoption. He continues by saying that although Mydin Hypermarkets 48 EVCB (24 branches x 2 bay) is modest in comparison to the government's goal of installing 4000 charging points by 2024, it is nevertheless significant because everyone must contribute, no matter how tiny, to make the intended advancements.

The collaboration of the EV charging solutions with Mydin is a key step for ChargeSini to actively contribute to the growth of EV charging facilities and networks in Malaysia, according to Mr. Eric Lim, Sales Director of ChargeSini.

In addition, he stated that ChargeSini intended to construct 500 to 1,000 EV charging stations in Malaysia this year. ChargeSini has so far installed 320 EVCB successfully in more than 100 locations. The establishment of EV charging stations in tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants, malls, and condominiums is where ChargeSini will concentrate its efforts.

It is also crucial to point out that ChargeSini is the fastest growing privately funded CPO in Malaysia and is one of the pioneers in the EV charging industry. With the help of the collaboration with Mydin Hypermall, ChargeSini would become Malaysia's No. 2 CPO in terms of the volume of EV chargers rolled out, according to the ChargeSini. They are now listed as one of the Top 3 CPOs in Malaysia in less than a year of operations.
