Samsung SDI Will Supply EV Batteries To Hyundai Motor
Samsung SDI has announced a seven-year partnership with Hyundai Motor Group to supply electric vehicle (EV) batteries beginning in 2026. This is the two South Korean companies' first battery supply agreement, according to an official statement from the Korean automaker.
The company stated in a statement that they will supply prismatic batteries manufactured at their Hungarian factory to Hyundai Motor for their EVs aimed at the European market. Hyundai Motor will use the batteries from 2026 to 2032. However, the exact value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
The partnership between Hyundai Motor and Samsung SDI marks a significant turning point for the South Korean electric car market. Through this partnership, both companies hope to take advantage of the growing demand for electric vehicles in Europe. Both have been aggressively growing their presence in the EV market.
Global automakers like General Motors, Stellantis, and BMW already rely on Samsung SDI as a reliable source for batteries. They further solidify their position in the electric vehicle market by partnering with Hyundai Motor on this battery supply agreement.
It is anticipated that the partnership between Hyundai Motor and Samsung SDI will hasten Europe's transition to electric vehicles. High-quality and dependable EV batteries are becoming more and more in demand as governments and nations throughout the region impose tougher rules and incentives for electric mobility.
This supply agreement benefits Samsung SDI and Hyundai Motor as well as bolstering the technological strength and global potential of South Korea's electric vehicle sector. Both businesses are well-positioned to make a significant impact in the quickly changing electric vehicle (EV) market thanks to their combined knowledge and assets. -full.jpg)

They hope to strengthen their position in the global electric vehicle market and meet the increasing demand for electric vehicles in Europe by working together.
