New Maserati MC20 Notte Debuts As An All-Black Special

New Maserati MC20 Notte arrives as the first special edition of the marque's flagship supercar model

Famed Italian marque Maserati is expanding its MC20 lineup today by launching the supercar’s first-ever special edition model, cordially known as the Maserati MC20 Notte. Translated to ‘night’ in Italian, the MC20 Notte features a unique all-black theme inspired by the “mystical and intense power of darkness,” where only 50 units will be produced for the entire world.

Based on the coupe version of the MC20, the limited edition MC20 Notte is borne out of the marque’s Fuoriserie bespoke arm with former GT1 world champion and current Maserati test driver Andrea Bertolini. In spite of this partnership, the MC20 Notte unfortunately boasts neither mechanical nor performance upgrades over its standard siblings, but instead features distinctive design specifications for both its exterior and interior.

For starters, the MC20 Notte is draped in special ‘Nero Essenza’ exterior hue, which is contrasted with the matte white gold accents adorning the car’s signature trident emblem at the front, special MC20 badging on the front fenders, the Maserati lettering at the back, as well as on the 20-inch matte black wheels. Meanwhile, the car’s brake callipers are all kept in black, while said black body colour is matched with several carbon fibre trims all around the exterior.

The black-and-gold theme goes on as we get inside the MC20 Notte’s cabin, with both its sports seats wrapped in black and grey Alcantara upholstery with contrasting yellow stitchings, plus yellow-hued Trident emblem on the headrests. The steering wheel is also wrapped in the same upholstery as the seats, which blends well with the carbon fibre inserts. More importantly, each unit of the MC20 Notte will adorn an exclusive metal plate with ‘Una Di 50’ (one of 50) lettering that is placed between the two seats, indicating that this is a special edition model of the MC20 supercar.

As we mentioned earlier, no real-life performance upgrades were bestowed to the MC20 Notte, as this black-themed supercar is powered by the same 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 ‘Nettuno’ mill as we saw on the standard MC20, feeding 621 HP and 730 NM to its rear wheels (RWD) via an 8-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

Being the first-ever special edition model for the MC20 supercar, the all-new Maserati MC20 Notte is now available for purchase at an undisclosed price tag, with only 50 units available for grabs. This instantaneously made the MC20 Notte a lot more special and limited compared to both the MC20 coupe and MC20 Cielo convertible models, but still not on-par with the two track-only derivatives of the MC20 – the MC20 GT2 and the MCXtrema race cars.

Additionally, every purchase of the MC20 Notte will entitled owners with a special track day event organised by Maserati, allowing owners to fully maximise the potential of their mid-engined supercar, though we’d reckon some owners won’t take the risk of hooning out a super-limited, 50 unit-only supercar model.
