New production prototype of the Aston Martin Valhalla shown undergoing some testings ahead of its 2024 production commencement date
Almost five years since its first concept was previewed at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin is finally ready to commence production of its latest hypercar model, the Valhalla.
Ahead of that, the Gaydon-based marque has published a set of images showcasing the final prototype version of the Valhalla doing test-runs around the iconic Silverstone track – which also happens to be the location of AM’s newly-opened technology campus.

From said images, you can clearly see that this production-intent model boasts some slight design changes. Up front, the Valhalla prototype gets a new pair of headlights, now featuring DRL strips inside, while the front bumper now features a larger and more aggressive intake and ventilated side fenders. Complementing said bumper is a redesigned front splitter, which now has vertical fins at both ends.
Elsewhere, the Valhalla prototype comes with a more streamlined body style, featuring more prominent side scoops, new side mirrors, and revised doors with flush door handles. More importantly, this prototype appears to sport a rather massive, GT-style rear wing, though it remains to be seen whether this will end up in the final production version of the Valhalla.

Beyond its slightly-tweaked design, the Valhalla is a serious hypercar, with its development taking several inspos from the marque’s factory Formula One team. Similar to the AMR23 Formula One racecar, the Valhalla gets its powertrain setup from Mercedes-AMG in the form of a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine that drives the rear axle via a newly-developed eight-speed DCT gearbox.
Said V8 mill features a flat-plane crank similar to what we saw on the AMG GT Black Series, which is said to be "the most advanced, responsive, and highest-performing V8 engine ever fitted to an Aston Martin.'' Meanwhile, its lightweight exhaust system comes with adjustable flaps that give "an authentic Aston Martin sound character.”

Additionally, the Valhalla also gets a pair of electric motors – one placed at the rear axle just behind the V8 mill and another at the front axle. All in all, this V8 hybrid setup is capable of delivering a whopping 1,000 HP, which is enough to propel it from nought to 100 KM/H in just 2.5 seconds, and a V-max of 349 KM/H (217 MPH), AM claims.
More F1-inspired mechanical bits can be found in the rest of the Valhalla. This includes the bespoke carbon fibre monocoque chassis, pushrod suspension setup, and F1-style active front splitter and rear wing carried over from the Valkyrie, with the latter garnering more than 600 KG of downforce at 240 KM/H speeds.

On board, the Valhalla boasts a more livable cabin compared to the racecar-style, bare-boned innards of the Valkyrie hypercar. Modern amenities like a central infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, dual-zone climate control, a reverse camera, and a slew of ADAS features are all present to make this manic hypercar a fairly-decent daily-driveable machine.

While its production has been confirmed to commence later in 2024, Aston Martin remains tight-lipped about the exact premium the British marque will charge for this manic hypercar. With only 999 units planned to be produced, we can expect it to fetch a serious premium over other AM models.
