Christmas: ANIH Anticipates One Million Vehicles To Use KLK, LPT1
ANIH Bhd, the concessionaire of the Kuala Lumpur - Karak Highway (KLK) and the East Coast Expressway Phase 1 (LPT1), will proactively increase operational readiness to accommodate the anticipated surge in traffic during the upcoming Christmas holiday season.
The concessionaire anticipates a significant increase in average daily traffic volume, with nearly one million vehicles expected to use the KLK and LPT1 highways between December 23 and December 26.
According to the statement, 172,200 vehicles are anticipated daily in the KLK, which represents an astounding increase of more than 70% from the average daily traffic flow, and 68,200 vehicles on average per day in the LPT1, which represents an increase of more than 50% from the average daily traffic flow.
Imran Gulcharan Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of ANIH Bhd, strongly advises travelers to refer to the issued Travel Time Advisory (TTA) in order to guarantee a more comfortable and seamless travel experience.
“Compliance with the TTA is expected to reduce congestion on both highways,” he added.
Travellers are encouraged to use Rest and Relax areas (R&R) or designated stops as needed, and to adhere meticulously to road signs, speed limits and directives from highway personnel.
ANIH Bhd has also increased the number of its support staff at toll booths and placed RELA members in strategic locations along the highways to ensure smooth traffic flow for the entire designated time.
For up-to-date information, road users can follow the official Facebook account @Lebuhraya Pantai Timur and Twitter account @LPTTrafik, as well as the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), @llmtrafik.
In the event of an emergency, contact LPT-Line at 1-700-818-700 or the Malaysian Highway Authority hotline at 1800-88-7752.
