MyJPJ's “e-Aduan@JPJ” Feature - So Convenient, You Are Going To Love It!

Yesterday, YB Anthony Loke, Minister of Transport announced that Section 20 of the Road Transport Act 1987, which required motor vehicle licences to be displayed on vehicles, will no longer be enforced for private individuals. This exemption was provided by power given to the Minister of Transport under Seksyen 127 (1) (b) Road Transport Act 1987.
With that now officially all private Malaysian owned vehicles would not have to affix any form of physical motor vehicle licence (LKM) neither would drivers be required to carry along their Malaysian drivers licence (LLM). They can opt to have it in physical form if they wish for it.
All the driver's LKM and LLM data can now be accessible via the MyJPJ mobile application. Now having downloaded and familiarised ourselves with this application, we simply wonder why this was not done ages ago since every data is with the Land Transport Authority (JPJ) from the get go.

Anyways, aside from the “important” feature highlighted above, the next most wonderful feature would be e-aduan@JPJ. This feature would now easily allow registered users to lodge complaints or report any road offences to JPJ.
Going through the e-aduan@JPJ feature, we were able to notice that all the core offences are separated into individual segments. The nine offences listed for app users to lodge complaint about are;
Failure to abide to traffic signals
Driving on emergency lane
Que cutting
Overtaking from the left lane
Overtaking on double line
Using handphone while driving
Fancy vehicle number plate
Dark vehicle window tint
Not using seat belt when driving

For every offences reported, users would have to enter certain specific information such as;
Upload picture of the offence
Provide a video link of the offence (user would need to upload the video to file sharing sites to obtain this link)
Date offence was committed
Time offence was committed
Offence coordinate, Latitude and Longitude (can be generated from the map provided)
Location offence was committed
State offence was committed in
Offending vehicle’s number plate
Users phone number
A brief description of the offence

According to JPJ, once a complaint has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the JPJ, and the user will be notified of the status of their complaint via email or in-app. Furthermore, JPJ will take appropriate action against the offender if found guilty.
