Launched: BMW X7 xDrive40i – Now with Six-Seat Option, From RM654K

BMW Malaysia has refreshed its ‘SAV’ (Sport Activity Vehicle) line-up today by launching the facelifted version of the BMW X7 xDrive40i. This three-row luxury crossover, nicknamed ‘The President’, is being offered in Pure Excellence form that features a slew of cosmetic updates from the previous model.

Off the bat, you’ll notice that the X7 now dons a heavily-redesigned front fascia that matches its saloon twin, the latest-gen 7 Series. Said front end now boasts new split-twin LED headlights, with its DRL and signal indicators now sitting above as a separate unit from the actual headlights itself. The front apron is also being reworked to make space for the bigger kidney grille design, featuring chrome surround and horizontal grille bars.

From the side, the new X7 features some satined aluminium finish on several parts, including the roof rails, exterior trim lines, as well as the window surround. Aside from the higher ground clearance, the ‘SAV’ now rides on a new set of wheels with multiple Y-spoke design, finished in two-tone silver and black.

Its derriere is now primed with 3D taillights with new internal graphics layout, with the reversing lights now repositioned. The two flanking lights are connected to each other with a glass-covered chrome strip, giving a luxurious edge to this already posh-looking ‘SAV’.

On board, the new X7 is laden with tech amenities and equipment, headlined by the BMW Curved Display. This dual-screen layout features a massive 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment display powered by BMW OS8, as well as a 12.3-inch instrument cluster display with BMW Live Cockpit Plus for the driver. Drivers will also get BMW Head-Up Display (HUD) as standard, plus multifunction buttons on the steering wheel that controls the media and other driving-related functions.

Apart from the gizmos, the X7 cabin is also primed with plush and posh materials, ranging from the ‘Lindenwood Fineline’ wood veneers, Alcantara M Headliner, finished in anthracite, as well as leather upholstery for the front dash and sporty steering wheel.

New to the facelifted model is the 2-2-2 six-seat configuration, with the second row now featuring two individual seats. All seats are wrapped with new Sensafin upholstery with decorative stitching as standard. Toppling down the third row seats will grant the X7 with a massive 750-litre boot space – more than enough for your weekly grocery run.

The new X7 employs the same 3.0-litre straight-six twin-scroll turbocharged mill, now mated with a mild-hybrid (MHEV) system that features a 48 V starter generator for better efficiency and reduced emissions. This powertrain setup now delivers up to 375 HP and 540 NM – 50 HP and 90 NM higher than the previous model.
Paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport gearbox, the facelifted X7 xDrive40i is capable of despatching from nought to 100 KM/H in 5.8 seconds – a slight improvement over its predecessor’s 6.1 seconds time. Flat out, this three-row SUV can go up to 250 KM/H.

Ensuring easy manoeuvrability in this rather hefty SUV, the X7 comes equipped with BMW Integral Active Steering, plus active dampers system powered by double-wishbone suspensions for the front axle and two-axle air suspensions at the rear.
Just like any other modern BMW cars, the new X7 comes standard with a slew of active safety features like Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning with active steering interventions, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning, Rear Collision Prevention with exit warning, Speed Limit Info and manual Speed Limit Assist.

The exterior colour offerings for the New BMW X7 are Sparkling Copper Grey Metallic, Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic, Skyscraper Grey Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, and Black Sapphire Metallic, while the new Sensafin upholstery is available in Sensafin Black and Sensafin Cognac.

The new BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence is now open for order, with its price starting at RM654,800 on-the-road sans insurance. This price is inclusive of a 5-year Extended Warranty and Service Package, plus BMW Group Malaysia Premium Ownership experience which includes:
BMW 5-Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty with Free Scheduled Service Programme
