Jaecoo J7 SUV Aced M4TREC’s Off-Road Course Challenge

The upcoming Jaecoo J7 has tackled the infamous M4TREC’s off-road course challenge
Ahead of its planned local debut later in Q2 2024, folks at Jaecoo Malaysia have decided to test the off-roading prowess of its upcoming SUV model, the Jaecoo J7. To showcase its off-roading pedigree, the J7 has uptaken the infamous off-road course challenge at the renowned Malaysia 4WD Training and Experience Centre (M4TREC), with the C-SUV model aced through this strenuous course.

For those who are not familiar with M4TREC’s off-roading challenge, this course has been meticulously designed to test out the off-roading capabilities of 4x4 trucks and SUVs. Featuring complex and challenging obstacles, including roller ramps, ridge crossings, and steep slope descents, these tests serve as a testament to the demanding assessment of off-road vehicle performance.
“The J7’s remarkable off-road capabilities have left us astounded, exemplified by its seamless navigation through the rugged and demanding terrains at M4TREC,” said one M4TREC certified instructor.

The Jaecoo J7 is powered by a 1.6-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol mill
Part and parcel of the Jaecoo J7’s excellent run through this course is due to its off-road-ready powertrain setup. Under the hood, the J7 hides a peppy 1.6-litre 4-cyl TGDI mill that is mated to a seven-speed DCT gearbox to deliver 197 PS and 290 NM. More importantly, this power plant is further paired with Jaecoo’s proprietary All Road Drive Intelligent System (ARDIS) AWD setup that allows for split-second AWD instant intervention.

Also providing both comfort and off-roading prowess to the J7 is the SUV’s tall ground clearance of 200 MM, allowing for better approach, breakdown, and departure angles, as well as a claimed 600 MM water-wading depth.
Besides its stellar off-roading prowess, the Jaecoo J7 is still a luxury urban-dwelling SUV, featuring a clean and elegant exterior design paired with a well-equipped cabin laced with a slew of modern creature comforts. Guided by the brand philosophy of "From Classic, Beyond Classic," the J7 has the ambition to set a new standard for urban off-road SUVs in the emerging Southeast Asian markets, specifically Malaysia.

The upcoming Jaecoo J7 C-SUV is set to make its local debut later in Q2 this year
As we mentioned earlier, the upcoming Jaecoo J7 SUV is poised to make its local market entry later in Q2 this year. With both its off-roading prowess and luxurious facade, the J7 will bring fierce battle to fellow established C-segment SUVs like the new Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, Subaru Forester, and many more.
