MINI Aceman Electric Aced Final Testing Ahead of April Debut

Slated to make its global debut later on April 24, the upcoming MINI Aceman EV has aced its final testing.
MINI has finally confirmed the official launch date for its latest EV offering, the new MINI Aceman EV. Completing the marque’s new all-electric lineup alongside the new Cooper and Countryman Electric, the Aceman is poised to make its global debut later on April 24, taking place at the upcoming Auto China motor show.

Ahead of its debut, MINI has published several latest photos of the new Aceman EV undergoing its final testing. Still heavily wrapped in camouflage wrap, the Aceman has survived extreme weather conditions throughout its testing, ranging from hot desert climate with temperatures of up to 50° Celsius to cold and arid places like the Arctic Circle.

The MINI Aceman slots between the Cooper and Countryman in MINI's new electric lineup
Regardless of the camo wrap, you’ll still see several design elements that combine several elements derived from its two electric twins. Dimension-wise, the Aceman slots perfectly between the Cooper and Countryman, measuring 4,075 MM long, 1,754 MM wide, and 1,495 MM tall.

We can expect the Aceman to get similar cabin setup as seen on the new MINI Cooper
On board, the MINI Aceman is expected to get the same cabin layout as the Cooper EV, featuring the new round touchscreen at the centre. Despite gaining in size, said screen is still accompanied by several buttons and toggle switches for the infotainment, while the buttons on its steering wheel are mostly reserved for drive modes and ADAS-related functions.

Sharing most of its mechanical bits with the Cooper Electric, the Aceman derives its power from a single, front-mounted (FWD) electric motor that delivers 181 HP on the baseline model, while the top-specced model gets a higher 215 HP state-of-tune. The former allows the Aceman to blast from nought to 100 KM/H in a respectable 7.3 seconds, while the peppier model shortens it to 6.7 seconds.
On the battery front, the baseline Aceman gets a smaller 40-kWh unit, which grants it a 300 KM WLTP range, whereas the up-specced model gets a bigger 54.2-kWh pack that extends its WLTP figure to 400 KM. Charging-wise, both models support DCFC at a capped 95 kW rate.
Beyond the two standard models, MINI is also reportedly working on a souped-up, performance-oriented JCW version of the new Aceman. Speaking to Autocar UK, MINI production line boss said the Aceman JCW will retain the same powertrain setup as the standard models but also feature additional performance bits like wider tyres for better balance, plus the obvious cosmetic add-ons.

Similar to both the new Cooper and Countryman, the all-new MINI Aceman EV is set to be manufactured at MINI’s new production facility in China by the end of this year. For the European markets, however, the Aceman will be produced at MINI’s newly-revamped Oxford plant from 2026 onwards. Unlike both the new Cooper and Countryman, the Aceman will be offered exclusively as an all-electric offering.
“To people in the UK, I can still see that Mini is regarded as your baby because it was born there and has been there for a long time. We still call Oxford the heart of our brand. I hope and I think we will take good care of it,” said MINI boss Stefanie Wurst.
