Police have confirmed that a multipurpose vehicle (MPV) allegedly seen tailgating an ambulance on the North-South Highway belongs to a minister. Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri stated that authorities came across a video depicting an official vehicle tailing the ambulance.
Yusri further added that the ambulance was responding to an accident at KM305 of the North-South Highway around 10:27 AM on Feb 3, which resulted in the deaths of two lorry drivers and involved seven vehicles on the North-South Expressway near Gopeng.
According to Yusri, a police report has been filed, and preliminary inquiries showed that the minister was in the car with the minister's driver. They were unable to arrive at the welfare programme they were scheduled to attend because of traffic congestion.
